Structural Composition

Main components: Inlet pipe, exhaust pipe, cylinder, cone and ash hopper. The tangential inlet pipe forms high-speed rotating airflow; the top exhaust pipe serves as the discharge channel for purified gas; the cylinder and cone form the main shell to enhance centrifugal force; the bottom ash hopper collects dust and is equipped with ash discharge devices.

Working Principle

Dust-laden gas tangentially enters the cyclone dust remover and spirals downward along the cylinder wall to form an outer swirling flow. Dust particles move toward the wall under centrifugal force and fall into the ash hopper by gravity. When the outer swirling flow reaches the bottom of the cone, it reverses to form an upward inner swirling flow. The purified gas is finally discharged through the exhaust pipe.

Performance Characteristics

Advantages: Simple structure with low cost and convenient fabrication, installation and maintenance. It is suitable for large air volume and can be operated in parallel to improve processing capacity. Special materials enable adaption to high temperature and corrosive working conditions. Dry dust removal is beneficial to dust recycling.

Disadvantages: Low collection efficiency for fine particles smaller than 5μm. The inlet and cone parts are prone to wear when treating high-concentration or abrasive dust. The performance is greatly affected by inlet airflow velocity, gas temperature and other working conditions.

By air inlet mode: Tangential inlet type and axial inlet type.

By structural form: Long cone type, cylindrical type, diffusion type and bypass type.

By assembly and installation: Internal cyclone type, external cyclone type, vertical type, horizontal type, single-tube type and multi-tube type.

By dust removal performance: High-efficiency type, large-flow type, general-purpose type and explosion-proof type.

Application Fields

Widely used in power plants, coal mines, cement plants, steel mills and other industries as primary or independent dust removal equipment. It is also applied in agricultural fields such as livestock farms and grain drying, and used for preliminary air purification in places with high air quality requirements.
